Joints
Joints are where bones connect and provide movement. There are three main types of joints: the hinge joint, gliding joint, and ball-and-socket joint. Here are some details as well as a few examples of these joints in the body.
Hinge Joint
Gliding Joint
Ball-and-Socket Joint
Ball-and-socket joints are joints that can move in almost all directions. They consist of a spherical bone end and a bone with a spherical indentation. The two joints then fit together and move easily in most directions, except completely backwards. Some examples in the body are the hips and shoulders.

Bone Marrow
Bone marrow is an important part of the skeletal system. It is a jelly-like substance located inside the bones. Inside the bone marrow, blood cells are created. Since blood gets rid of waste and provides oxygen for the body, bone marrow is imperative for the safety of your body.
